6/30/2023 0 Comments My new order hitler![]() Fifteen years before the National Socialist Party came to power there was the opportunity of carrying out these revisions by peaceful settlements and understanding. It is a lie when the outside world says that we only tried to carry through our revisions by pressure. More than 1,000,000 people of German blood had in the years 1919-1920 to leave their homeland.Īs always, I attempted to bring about, by the peaceful method of making proposals for revision, an alteration of this intolerable position. As in other German territories of the East, all German minorities living there have been ill-treated in the most distressing manner. ![]() ![]() Danzig was separated from us, the Corridor was annexed by Poland. ![]() Both these territories owe their cultural development exclusively to the German people. 6/30/2023 0 Comments Napoleon hill![]() Hill's mother died when he was nine years old, and his father remarried two years later to Martha. His father was an unofficial dentist and was also a moonshiner. His grandfather came to the United States from England and settled in southwestern Virginia in 1847. His parents were James Monroe Hill and Sarah Sylvania (Blair), and he was the grandson of James Madison Hill and Elizabeth (Jones). Hill was born in a one-room cabin near the Appalachian town of Pound in southwest Virginia. ![]() Gizmodo has called him "the most famous conman you've probably never heard of". Accused of fraud, modern historians also doubt many of his claims, such as that he met Andrew Carnegie and that he was an attorney. Hill is, in modern times, a controversial figure. ![]() Most of his books were promoted as expounding principles to achieve "success". ![]() Hill's works insisted that fervid expectations are essential to improving one's life. He is best known for his book Think and Grow Rich (1937), which is among the best-selling self-help books of all time. Oliver Napoleon Hill (Octo– November 8, 1970) was an American self-help author. ![]() 6/30/2023 0 Comments Strong poison by dorothy l sayers![]() ![]() She is actually one of my all-time favorite heroines/main characters and have said on the record that I aspire to be part Harriet, part Tiffany Aching, with maybe a dash of Miss Marple and Sophie Hatter thrown in. I have strong feelings about Harriet Vane which are: HARRIET IS THE BEST AND I LOVE HER FOREVER. As the book opens, Harriet is accused of the murder of an ex-lover, Philip Boyes, and it’s up to Peter to prove her innocence and save her life. Strong Poison is the fifth book in the Lord Peter Wimsey series, and the first to feature Peter’s love interest and eventual wife, Harriet Vane. As always, these posts may (will!) contain massive spoilers so beware if you wish to avoid them. Specifically, those which feature both Harriet Vane & Lord Peter Wimsey, since Harriet + Peter = otp forever. The triumphant return of reading notes! This month, I plan to re-read and talk about four mysteries by Dorothy Sayers. ![]() 6/30/2023 0 Comments How to murder your life a memoir![]() ![]() It continues to New York, where we follow Marnell’s amphetamine-fueled rise from intern to editor through the beauty departments of NYLON, Teen Vogue, Glamour, and Lucky. ![]() It begins at a posh New England prep school-and with a prescription for the Attention Deficit Disorder medication Ritalin. This is a tale of self-loathing, self-sabotage, and yes, self-tanner. She was also a “doctor shopper” who manipulated Upper East Side psychiatrists for pills, pills, and more pills a lonely bulimic who spent hundreds of dollars a week on binge foods a promiscuous party girl who danced barefoot on banquets a weepy and hallucination-prone insomniac who would take anything- anything-to sleep. From the New York Times bestselling author and former beauty editor Cat Marnell, a “vivid, maddening, heartbreaking, very funny, chaotic” ( The New York Times) memoir of prescription drug addiction and self-sabotage, set in the glamorous world of fashion magazines and downtown nightclubs.Īt twenty-six, Cat Marnell was an associate beauty editor at Lucky, one of the top fashion magazines in America-and that’s all most people knew about her. ![]() |
